From Lens to Code: Generative AI in Fashion Photography

One Photoshoot, Unlimited Possibilities: Revolutionising Fashion Imagery with AI

AI-driven tools are transforming fashion imagery, turning a single photoshoot into endless possibilities. Swap garments, adjust colours, and change backgrounds or models without reshoots. This innovation makes content creation faster, more scalable, and more sustainable.

AI-powered background generation removes the constraints of physical locations, opening up new creative possibilities.

With LoRAs (Low-Rank Adaptation), a machine learning technique for fine-tuning large AI models like diffusion models and transformers, we can now make minor tweaks to a garment design without altering its core essence. This allows brands to quickly iterate and customise designs with precision. By integrating IDM-VTON (Implicit Diffusion Model for Virtual Try-On) into ComfyUI we can seamlessly swap garments on a model. The IDM-VTON node powers the virtual try-on process, using inputs such as a human image, pose representation, clothing mask, and the garment image we want to apply.

This presents a huge opportunity for brands to create more personalised content, at a lower cost whilst also reducing the environmental impact.
The applications of AI within fashion retail workflows are vast - from rapid fashion design ideation, design iterations, range planning visualization and product trialing strategies to personalised marketing content and consumer virtual try-on experiences. This project showcases how virtual try-on expands creative freedom, allowing for faster, more scalable, and more sustainable fashion content creation.
