A. Sauvage / Microsoft
In another successful ‘design – tech’ collaboration, the FIA brought together British designer A. Sauvage and Microsoft Mobile Devices to showcase the world’s first pair of wireless charging trousers for London Collections: Men on Tuesday 17th June.
The technology (known as inductive charging) comes from the new Nokia DC-50 wireless charging plate, which was fitted into a fashionable piece of clothing. The collaboration focuses on the ‘Modern Man’ of 2014. A. Sauvage is known for creating understated luxury with a no-nonsense approach to contemporary tailoring, which compliments the concept of wearable technology.
The unique piece will be exclusively available for pre-order on the Amazon online store.
Adam Johnson, Marketing Director for Microsoft Mobile (UK and Ireland) said:
“We have a proud history of working with cutting edge designers, having previously collaborated with Fyodor Golan during London Fashion Week to create the world’s first ‘Smart Skirt’. Carrying on this theme, we are really excited to work alongside such a talented designer as A. Sauvage. As well as having the vision to co-create these amazing wireless charging trousers, his beautiful and stylish garments reflect the cutting edge design of the new Lumia 930 handset.”
